... Schlafmuetzenalarm on the lauan
As you can see, it has become with the departure at 23.00 clock anything. Small visit to Graham, a small visit to Hans ... 20.00 clock back on board. Oh come on, two hours sleep and then go! Sure, good idea ... but ... as you can see the 2 hours we were still substantial. Point 3, I'm awake!
Now, while it is Friday, but we have to by now. Fingers crossed ... we're on the go!

... The weather map at
! This means march!
Then we surely have waited long enough! The current 24-hour map shows virtually nothing of wind and wave, so the trip to the corner of Honduras should be a breeze. Also extremely quiet for the next days weather is expected.
We are now once again aligns over to Josh and then start from there at about 23:00 clock, because we do not drive off Friday
. Our first trip will take about 30 hours. Then we arrived at the corner, will stay there 1-2 days and then use the (hopefully again freshening) wind down to Panama. Ok ... cu later!

... Trickled along.
The main focus was naturally on the daily weather reports. And actually ... it is hinted at an extreme weather calms down. So we started planning our departure!
This of course a visit last Friday belonged to the Maincay. Fruit and vegetables bunkers and again drop by Martin. You know, the electrician, who wanted to once again take our Lima to the chest. Unfortunately there was bad news in this connection. The guys on the mainland, the Lima definitely not repaired. Part of the diodes are still in the Ar ...! Well ... what numbers are to learn and ...
. Especially because, however, had a favorable new Lima in the bag and to make it short, we have electricity again! Holder fitting connections to match .... YES!
Saturday night a little strange process! Eventually, against 4:00 in the morning and I sit upright in bed, Heike and spare us. What was that exactly? Burglars? Walattacke? Mast fell over? A short, armed with machetes, accurate inspection revealed nothing, so weiteschlafen. During Saturday's afternoon cocktail on Josh's Cay then enlightenment. Hey guys ... did you feel the Earthquake? Aha ... we did in the night so our first earthquake. Now, please do not ask how much, but I know that must have Gerum apparently well. The islanders spoke of shaking our houses and we have felt it, after all, lying at anchor?!
On Sunday evening we spent again with our new Russian friends at Sundowner. They are started on Monday morning and had to be celebrated still small
. The three were actually only two days stay on Guanaja. Now it has become three weeks.
Our plan was to follow on Tuesday! So on Monday once again over to the Sandy Bay so we could leave us there by all. After all, we are now almost seven weeks here and there skin is not just so off. Pretty stupid idea!
In the evening we went to Picco (the local TO-Stuetzpunktleiter), in the beach bar. Well ... what can I say ... 3 hours and some rum was later to think no more of a morning departure. With the rest of alcohol?? Nene ... dont drink and drive
:-)! Also made it nothing, because at sea in between again built a small perturbation. Nu isses again Wednesday, but not later on Friday ... .. we go!

... Shopping trip!
That has now been but the last visit of his MainCay
. Hans took us and our neighbors on time from clock at 12.00, so we do our accounts last shopping. Fresh fruit and vegetables are now bunkered and the weather report says for the next few weeks ahead of last wave. This smells hard to break! Meanwhile, still another ship (Vagabond SY) has joined us. We had the two already met on Roatan and they now want to start the trial and tear over the direction of Banks in Panama. Well, the weather god but have a show!
In the evening we all (again) to the restaurant from Josh's Cay and have approved an ever impending departure
If you want to see by the way sometimes, what is there to see there so ... I have a link to Graham (the owner of the Cays) added to the list of links. But not just any book now - what would be understood -! Graham is apparently not without means, and operates the Cay really only a hobby. Nice power everything, a guest house built by one, but actually says: Do not send me much to visitors. Not to much stress on this beautiful place
Just retired!

... On the beach!
To once again to represent the legs, we went over to Josh's Cay. So far, we had never managed more than up to the restaurant, but so slowly make itself felt but the stiff limbs. So ... walk on the beach! There, the discovery of the local Fundbueros. The collected shoes and flip-flops of recent times to choose from!
After then again over to Bavaria Hans. When it failed since the last storm the Satelittenanlage. Do we then again hinbekommen and success with a couple of Flor de Caña Reserva (rum from Honduras) watered. Sure ... the day was gone
Just walks over to the main Cay. One last time (hopefully buy)!

... About alternatives to proceed even we had also already made
The Daypic shows a small part of the property by Anke and Bernd. You are not currently on site, but have it during their Abwesnheit always like it when someone lives there and holds his eyes a little open. Well ... what can I say ... we have thought seriously because we settle here for a few months at home. But do not worry, after 3 days was the thought vanished again :-). We want to continue to call ... Panama and the San Blas Islands! (Yes Ingo! The Hulas!)
3rd Part of the Saga Lima: The Lima then came back again one week later. Made me suspicious was the first of the new paint. Instead of sleek red Ferrari she now gleams in silver. If we have ordered it?? No matter ... just installed the next day came the disillusionment. The thing runs only at half speed. 20 Amp defeat at the output and the charging light does not go out completely. Prima! But after all, are 20 amps better than nothing, so we let the machine run to see if they at least hold out. You probably already suspects it .... 1 hours later it was! Nothing works anymore. Knallhell charging light and the output zero amps. What to do? We had three choices: first Lima in the plane and back again (Oh neee, please let times) 2 According to La Ceiba to sail back and try whether we can serve you better in the field (also stupid! Are 80 nm which are then yes zurueckgeduest again have to, to Marinagebuehren, constantly by taxi in the city, etc. etc.) 3 Sch ... on the alternator! Why do we need them?
And just as we do it Solar and wind range for the normal daily needs, and in case of emergency we have still our little Hondagenarator. It creates, not the 50 amp charger to run (why not?), But fortunately we still have the charger from Voreigner on board. Although only 15 amps power, but works with the generator. And now, if the objection is: Yes .. But ... what about the starter battery? No problem! The 24 volts and have their own Lima
One thing we have in this - admittedly unbelievably problem - learned. Before the Pacific and in remote areas go, it really creates a larger spare parts list. To date, repairs were never an obstacle. Somewhere there has always had a Shipchandler or specialists of the required materials on site. But even here on Guanaja is a lack of stainless steel mother to a real problem.
Oh ... and a new experience, we are doing. In the last two years we have been spared so far as possible from defects. No wonder it was ... well, almost everything is new. But slowly but surely gnawing also lauan salt water and salty humidity. Small construction sites everywhere!
Like the other day, another sailor said the beer: Welcome to the Club! We repair the world around us!
But otherwise it does us good

.. On board!
Only the skipper was the last weeks of a bad mood and had no motivation to somehow maintain a logbook. Whether the lack Glueckshormonproduktion by the lack of nicotine or our smoked alternator and the desperate Reparaturbemuehungen lag?? Who knows this already. Well, you see her in spite of palms, turquoise waters and views may have Haenger NEN classic! Just do not let it get to say the motto
Current status is: We are still in Guanaja and not come off. Somehow got stuck in the middle of the Caribbean an area with quite a lot of wind and leaves behind his influence here. 20-25 knot east and 6-9 ft waves from the same direction. Not that we would have something against the wind .... the waves are well known, - when reaching, well-behaved - not the big problem, but for the next 200 nm is the same as for the way ... here is wind on the nose and wave short and sweet ... nene, nothing for us (and two other ships which want to Panama)!
The Odyssey with our Lima and other odds and I'll tell you in the coming days. Lt. current weather fax is the weather the next three days so as it is and soooo much of it is not here to tell otherwise

... To the world the same stress and the same Nickligkeiten.
As we learned yesterday, then by Gunter, Utila seems a break. The tourism and the associated money also left their mark here. Increasing greed of politicians, bigger gap between where the lot and which have nothing and the resulting rise in crime are on this jewel has become a serious problem. We left Gunter is not without its stark warning that completely when leaving the ship well and if possible at dusk to be back on board. The ever-popular sailor pub is probably the evening dim genomes of the target figures and cozy while the beer is then removed at the same time the ship.
Honestly ... that we would have here now in this sharpness is not expected. We must simply be more sensitive.
Well ... today is Sunday and the island is a meeting of believers called for. As will surely be quiet!

... Again!
Ok ... for which I have neglected you in the past few weeks, I take a ton freiwillg ashes on my head! But I do not .. somehow I missed actually the right motivation. Why? No idea, maybe we were too long in Germany and it was up to my new status - Non smoking -?? But anyway .. Now I am back! with Logbuchschreibselei.
We have this morning - to match the flood - the sand bar of the Rio Dulce happened and are now on the way to Utila, one before the three Bay Islands, Honduras. Supposedly it is supposed to be as excellent diving. Until then, there are still about 90 nautical miles and are quite uncomfortable. Just as it looks, lively 2 m waves and wind from the front
And the last few weeks? Well .. really you did not miss much
. Our visit to Germany seemed to me then but not really suitable for logbook ... so deleted. For the 6 weeks but then it became 8 weeks. Easter was at the door, transfer cost only $ 100 .. So .. extended length :-).
The flight back to Guatemala City verleif smoothly. The worries about our new gennaker and their treatment by the customs authority proved to be unfounded. The German Zoellner good stamped export documents (thus we get the previously paid VAT. Back again) and the Guatemalan customs was represented by two ladies, who listened to our brief history and then from there let us go. Prima run! Ah .. That reminds me of .. will you hear the story of the German customs in our entry to Germany? .. I at that time still smoking .. of course each have 2 sticks of cigarettes taken from Guatemala. Well done to the Duty Free bags packed and nothing evil thinking. Up to the customs control in Frankfurt! Us unerringly picks out there was a Zoellnerin (yes even tough we had .. yes the bags under his arm) to explain to us that within the EU are two poles allowed, but we come from overseas ... and there is only one allowed . Ok .. sorry .. we did not know we can hold each one here! Nene, is not so easy ... I've caught them smuggle in and that is punishable by law! That makes too much use in a box 90 €, a total of 180 €! What? How? Good woman .. we did not really .. otherwise I would have not determined the rods taken a walk as open or I would have someone else made one. Well .. long palaver back and forth, I pissed on 180, Heike! But then the aunt said: OK .. I believe them and press times to keep an eye ... they give me half! From there, the day was over for me. What now? Guilty or not guilty? Since when is gemauschelt here?

... Then turns out to Roatan but still
Given the upcoming holidays, we have then ausklariert Schonmal yesterday and are therefor a taxi in the Haupttown-Coxen Hole-driven. Although not much cleaner than French Harbour, but lively and with Central American flair. At least as we imagine it. Luckily we had caught a taxi driver who drove us still a little through the area and has much tells the history of Roatan. Optical Roatan is up to the village to these two very appealing. We found the expected beaches, resorts and stayed squeaky clean nice people. Anyway ... for us to say, Adios, Hasta luego, or maybe. We are the Bay Islands of Roatan and determined once more to visit then give a new chance
Right, but we will try to pull the anchor from the mud and then on to Belize!
OK my friends, because I think that tomorrow no one is sitting at the computer ... .. ALL FAITHFUL READERS FESTIVAL AND HAPPY NEW YEAR A GOOD SAFETY INS!

Lets continue. Since we're off to clock 8.00 Roatan, Bay Islands, the main island.
The last two days before Josh's Cay was all about relaxation. Suesses doing nothing on a beautiful island. So again ... Summary of Guanaja! Who is looking for total relaxation in a completely stress-free and original atmosphere, which is strongly encouraged to skip Florida this island. While one works to the island for tourists to make it more interesting (including duty-free zone, road construction, etc.) but I think it will take several years to develop real tourism here. Currently, there is nothing except a handful of hotels, what the standard tourist would wind up here. So .... who are interested in gastronomy, diving school and charter company, Jet ski rental or similar things, tourism has ... this is the place where something is still missing. And the prices of regulated are (still) seeeeeehr affordable. Even the dream of a small island can still be achieved inexpensively.
Ok ... now, but first we explore Roatan ... and do Schonmal thoughts about when and which route we leave for Belize.

... Of such houses (Daypic) to get even to ponder.
Something like that here costs about 50,000 U.S. and the country around it is also affordable. Since it is probably not surprising when you think about it settle here
. But ... mothers ... do not worry, we are only beginning our journey. Have established here but already about 20 German and the same number of Americans. Almost all we learned yesterday at lunch time - Pirates Dan know -. This is the very popular pub, when it comes to refresh themselves during the shopping trip. As I said Friday ... the supply vessel coming from the mainland and on the Hauptcay the hell is going on.
Well ... what can I say ... the hell only ended six hours later and plenty of beer. Since we are the only ship in the bay now, of course, we had already seen all at once and wanted to learn the story of our journey. In return, we learned the stories of all those who have over time moved their tents here. Old Vietnam veteran, wreck diving, explosion specialists and more. All in all a rather motley crew with even more colorful stories. For this afternoon we are invited to a wedding. Something to look as it is clear
.
Otherwise .... It's time again Festwachsgefahr! Our anchorage is somewhat of a bath and the temperature is 26 degrees with seeeeehr pleasant. Well we are picking up on 27.12 in Belize City have to be at Heike's sister.
