It is time ...!

2006-12-12.jpg

... Later became. But sometimes we forget the smooth log :-)

Saturday it was again different than planned. Morning at 9:00 clock ausklarieren we wanted, but the officials were probably fueled the evening too much and were so until around 11:00 clock. Then we both bunkers then still in the city for some food. Just back in the marina - had to - we are still to Raz, a Hungarian, aboard. Boatwatch stood on the plan :-). The good has bought in Miami a 48 foot powerboat Sunseeker ala, it can be brought here, and it would not now let's take this thing to show times. Maechtig impressive. Well ... you certainly suspects it. We chatted some un set course we were of the opinion that it is probably better to leave port the next morning sooooo relaxed. Weather did indeed look good ... so no problems!

Sunday morning we went further by actually 9.00. Hardly from the protected anchorage received us out but not a relaxed, extremly unpleasant wave. Short, steep (about 3 m) and crisp. Super Show! Rock'n'Roll at its best! Left ... right ... up ... down! So ... your eyes ... full throttle and off you out to sea.

3 hours later we had finally made it! Slightly apathetic wg. weak emerging seasickness we finally arrived in deeper waters. And from there we were rewarded. Until this morning at 7:00 it blew continuously with 15-20 knots from the right direction (northeast), and we roared with 7-8 knots of steel-blue days and starry nights.

But only no envy ... .. it is not possible such a complete state during trips have? I do not know why, but some local low or a depression (NO not me) are always in between. Since this morning we have a null wind and motors again. But the fish like it!! Slopes, I just now my new bait from San Andres into the water and before I had to rope the role depends turn a mackerel :-) but a mackerel ... or not??

140 miles to Guanja / Honduras!

Nice try ...!

2006-11-30.jpg

Last night it would be almost ready been.

We do realize that it is made in South America with the ownership not quite as accurate and up to now we could always exercise caution enough to leave it to us so far has been stolen anything. This should change yesterday, however.

To deliver the scuba tank and Genoa we had yesterday on a GUARDED Strandstueck land, which lies directly in front of Werner's diving school. - No problema senor .... Securidad mucho! - OK ... Let's bottle and delivered in Genoa and then to stroll in Town. 2 hours later a strange uneasiness in us! Hey ... come ... let's have a look back and after the dinghy. All bene .... Is there like we left it .. complete!

So even over to Werner for a couple of beers and two giant pizza :-). As I said .... Visibility to the beach GUARDED. 2 hours later and a few beers and then start the real shock! The Dinghy is where it was before, but without any enhancement. Outboard, tank, chain, paddle, cork, sponge, Schoepfbecher away ... .. EVERYTHING. Unbelievable! After us the first anpupste Waechter then what we wanted on the site as well, everything happened very quickly. Heike back to Werner wg. event. Neighborhood contacts, and I made it clear that I would like to see the Policia.

- No problema senor ... Securidad! - The boys wanted to make clear that it removed all the parts for our protection and safely stowed would have ;-) . Well ... yes any outboard I would understand it, paddle and tank as well, but Schoepfgefaess? Sponge? Cork? Chain? And ... why do you have the stuff stored on five different ships?

Well ... finally we get everything back again and have learned something. Again, this does not happen to us!

First impressions ...!

2006-11-29.jpg

... The island.

We are yesterday is only a short Rueber to give us an overview. So, ever the info ... .. very pleasant. Extremely friendly people. Very curious to us, because they probably have not soooo many German guests. Lt. Reports by Werner - the local German diving instructor (see link) - San Andres is probably firmly in Canadian hands. The short visit of Werner also took a course longer than planned :-) Because he and residents plenty of info about the island was ready for us. We really wanted just one second Dive bottle organize our fill and let search for a sail maker. Well ... and now we will take with him an island tour and dives are already being planned. We knew to not even then, the San Andres is a smart diving spot.

Shortly thereafter by the city and then again to lauan. It constantly blows with 20-25 knots and we were a little uneasy. Actually, the anchor is indeed quite good, but the Haltegrund consists predominantly of grass! As it should be on the weekend storm, we are the same times a second Lower anchor!

San Andres ...!

2006-11-28.jpg

In yesterday's night and day we were sympathetic to the weather gods and we sailed in glorious weather toward the goal. Deep blue sky, a few cumulus clouds and 15 half-kn wind. So nice to be sailing. If we had not yet rumgemotzt yesterday? Sch. ... Wave! Sch. ... Wind from the wrong direction? Forget about everything!

At 11.00 then land in sight ... .. at 13.00 we were at the buoy of San Andres. In the entrance channel to a few small islands and over the anchor fell at 14.00 from the local Club Nautico. Except us three other ships. You notice that we find ourselves apart from the usual blue-water route. Shortly a portion of spaghetti and then went to the bedroom to make up for it.

San Andres .... Colombian outpost, 750 km from Colombia, 200 km to the coast of Nicaragua. San Andres is known as the Mallorca of Colombia. A link with detailed information (in German) finds her in the link list in the logbook.

We will stay here until at least 1.12, as insurance cover the lauan while the official hurricane season extends only until the 13th latitude. At higher latitudes would be the lauan uninsured. While it is not really likely to be a hurricane, but better safe than sorry. As of 1:12 is again open to us the whole Caribbean :-) . The thing with the Vericherungsschutz by the way is a normal matter. During the hurricane season has no insurance more willing vessels trading area to assure Caribbean. Usually it is not allowed to be higher than 11 degrees in the entire Caribbean to move. Our holla Indian insurers allows us to 13 degrees :-)
